A fantastic collection of routes & locos, I've been having a great time working on it!

What have I done?
Some cool new core tech!
Transmit & receive blueprint - This nifty blueprint gives us the ability to manage multiple locations via an array. The blueprint then chooses a random location from the array every X amount of time, and plays a sound from there. The example I've used was for spawning an ambulance sound at a random location in a city.

Source & Echo blueprint - This works in a similar way to the transmit & receive blueprint. Although instead of randomly choosing a sound from the array to play. It plays a "Dry" sound at the source and the "Wet" echo sounds via all of the nodes stores within the array. I used this on a building site to immitate now sound reflects off of structues. The blueprint also comes with editable volume & delay values to allow for fine tuning

Check out this video of it at work! It can be a subtle effect, but I think it really helps to add some physicality to the sound. Letting it sit in the world more realistically, helping with immersion
New menu ambience - Ben created another gorgeous track for the menu of the game & I knew I had to redesign how the menu ambience worked & sounded to match it.
I selected a handful of routes & recored their ambience at different times of day and different weather to play in the background of the menu. I think it adds to the relaxing nature of the beginning of the song.

The only core route I've worked on the ambience for on this release, it's absolutely gorgeous! I had a great time creating some new ambience-related tech to help level-up the detail I was able to add to the route as well as adding creating expanding our collection of detail sounds for use, such as... horses!

There's plenty more in the pipeline to be excited about!
